Orville Peck shares details of forthcoming EP, Appaloosa

31 October 2025, 14:01 | Written by Tyler Damara Kelly

Country artist Orville Peck has announced his forthcoming project, the Appaloosa EP, alongside the release of his new single, "Drift Away".

“Drift Away” is Peck’s return to solo songcraft. In recent months, he’s teamed up with Noah Cyrus for “Love Is a Canyon,” and Kesha for “Tennessee” also featuring Hudson Mohawke and Tayla Parx. The latter will appear on the album All Things Go: 10 Years, out November 7, with all proceeds benefitting Jack and Rachel Antonoff’s The Ally Coalition.

Last year, Orville Peck shared his duets album Stampede, featuring collaborations with Kylie Minogue and Diplo on “Midnight Ride,” Beck on “Death Valley High,” and Willie Nelson for a cover of “Cowboys Are Frequently Secretly Fond of Each Other.” The project pushes the boundaries of country by creating a unique, genre-blurring blend of styles with each artist on the guest list, which also includes Elton John, Teddy Swims, Midland, Margo Price, Molly Tuttle, Cyrus, Rateliff, Russell, and many, many more.

The track paints a vivid picture of small-town ennui in the post-pandemic era, and lands ahead of his seventh Annual Rodeo, running from 14-16 November in Pioneertown, CA, at Pappy & Harriet’s, featuring performances from Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Joy Oladokun, Hurray for the Riff Raff, Allison Russell, and more. Beyond curating the entire experience — which includes nightly afterparties and a drag brunch hosted by Meatball — Peck will play a different set each day, notably headlining on Saturday, 15 November.

Appaloosa EP, will be released on 14 November via Warner Records, and is available to pre-save now.
