Oral Habit announce debut album, A Broken Chord
Brighton psych-garage trio Oral Habit have revealed the details of their upcoming debut album, A Broken Chord, and shared new single, "Surface Breaker".
"Surface Breaker" follows lead single "The Glove" released last month, following the band's debut EP, Garage Frock!, which dropped last summer.
Describing the new single, guitarist Charlie Hales says: “Drunken crooning trips and breaks through the surface, a machine gun of snare hits and slipping sludge riffs. Before you can hold it in your hands it’s already slipped through your fingertips.”
At thirty minutes, A Broken Chord is self-described as "a rainbow of Oral Habit", capturing a range of sounds from 60s freakbeat and Krautrock to punk, drawing from the psychedelic subcultures that have inspired them. Commenting on the energy behind the album, Hales says: “if a button’s there, it’s there to be pushed.”
