The pair performed two of The Cure’s best-known songs, “Just Like Heaven” and “Friday I’m In Love”, marking Smith’s return to the stage.

Introducing Smith to the stage, Rodrigo told the crowd: “He is perhaps the best songwriter to come out of England, he is a Glastonbury legend, and a personal hero of mine.” The two performed side by side, with Rodrigo adding harmonies to the tracks while glancing over at Smith throughout the duet.

Smith remained at the side of the stage for the rest of the set. After the show, Rodrigo wrote on Instagram: “headlining Glastonbury was quite literally just like a dream. thank you especially to Robert Smith for playing two of my favorite songs of all time on stage with me last night.”

The collaboration followed an earlier tribute to The Cure from Gracie Abrams, who covered “Just Like Heaven” during her Friday set, calling it one of her “favourite songs ever.” Rodrigo previously covered the same track during her Guts World Tour and has cited The Cure among her musical influences.

Rodrigo’s duet with Smith adds to a series of recent guest appearances during her festival sets, earlier in June, she invited David Byrne to join her at Governors Ball to perform Talking Heads’ “Burning Down the House.” The star had also headlined London's BST festival on Friday, where she duetted with Ed Sheeran
