Olivia Rodrigo announces all-women festival Daisy Chain Fields
Olivia Rodrigo has announced Daisy Chain Fields, a new single-day music festival in California featuring an all-women lineup that includes Bikini Kill, Chappell Roan, Garbage, The Breeders, and Stevie Nicks.
The event takes place on 29 August at Great Park in Irvine, California, with net proceeds benefiting non-profit organisations that advance and advocate for women and girls.
"I'm so excited to celebrate this incredible lineup of women," Rodrigo said in a statement. "By bringing together women in music and organisations helping shape a better future for women and girls, I hope we can build a community that inspires hope and positive change."
The lineup spans two stages and includes Bikini Kill, Chappell Roan, Die Spitz, Doechii, Eli, Garbage, KATSEYE, Mitski, Not For Radio, Olivia Rodrigo, Quiet Light, Rachel Chinouriri, Santigold and The Breeders. Special guest performances from Karen O, Sarah McLachlan and Stevie Nicks have also been confirmed.
The festival will feature nonprofit activations, educational resources, community art experiences, local vendors and immersive installations. Partner organisations include Baby2Baby, Black Mamas Matter Alliance, Center for Reproductive Rights, FreeFrom, Jhpiego, Johns Hopkins Center for Indigenous Health, National Domestic Workers Alliance, National Institute for Reproductive Health, National Women's Law Center and Planned Parenthood.
In her mission statement for the festival, Rodrigo said: "Daisy Chain Fields is a music festival founded on the belief that joy, community, and creativity can inspire meaningful change. It affirms that music and collective experience can serve as enduring drivers of progress and social change."
The festival is produced by C3 Presents and Live Nation. A presale for tickets begins on 24 June at 10am PT, with fans able to register for access via the festival website.
Rodrigo's announcement follows the release of her third studio album you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, which arrived earlier this year via Geffen Records.
