Oklou to feature on new Eartheater album, Heavenly Body: If I’m The Bottle You’re The Message
Eartheater has announced her new album, Heavenly Body: If I’m The Bottle You’re The Message, and shared lead single "Paradise Rains".
Heavenly Body: If I’m the Bottle You're The Message is Eartheater's first full-length work since her 2023 album Powders, and sees her explore her experience of pregnancy, how it transforms life and the body, and what it means to be a parent. "Paradise Rains" arrives as the first look at this journey, and is described as a track about "extinguishing the fires of hell with showers of deep love."
Speaking about the track, she explains: “‘Paradise Rains’ is a song about buying back my childhood farm after being estranged from it for 20 years. I conceived my baby the day we first stepped back on the property. So many memories, good and bad, were resuscitated being back, that then dissolved and got washed away by the showers of deep love with my new little family.”
Eartheater started making Heavenly Body: If I’m The Bottle You’re The Message three months after the birth of her daughter Nova, as she explains, “It is very much born from the throws and blisses of becoming a mother. Some music gets better over time, and some needs to come out immediately.” The eleven-track collection of "dance lullabies" was produced alongside David Sitek (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Jane’s Addiction, TV on the Radio), and includes a feature from Oklou.
Coinciding with the album's release, Eartheater will also be taking on a run of live dates throughout July and August, beginning in Los Angeles before continuing through New York, London, Paris, and Berlin.
