Oh He Dead announce new album Vertigo and share "The Weight"
Washington, D.C. groovers Oh He Dead have announced their new studio album, Vertigo, due 25 September via Wally Baba Records. They have also shared the first single, "The Weight", ahead of a US tour opening 9 October in Pennsylvania.
The album follows 2024's Ugly
and was recorded with Nashville-based producer Jimmy Mansfield, whose
credits include Medium Build, Eric Church, and Orville Peck. The band wrote on the
road after Ugly,
sifted through more than 100 tracks, and voted on the final selection.
The result draws on R&B, indie rock, psych, and disco, with
the title pointing to a period of non-stop touring and writing. The animated music video for "The Weight" is out now and you can watch it below.
Oh He Dead broke out in 2018 with "Lonely Sometimes", when their video for NPR's Tiny Desk Contest went viral. They have since released a self-titled album, Pretty in 2023, and Ugly in 2024, and have been shooting a documentary about life as an independent band.
Ahead of the tour, the band previewed Vertigo on 15 August at the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. The full US run begins 9 October at The Lititz Shirt Factory. No UK dates have been announced.
