Nicki Minaj to become playable character in Call of Duty
Nicki Minaj is set to be the first self-named female Operator of the Call of Duty franchise.
While numerous real-life celebrities have appeared in Call of Duty games over the years, including Snoop Dogg, Lionel Messi, and Kevin Durant, the only women to appear as Operators have been fictional.
Minaj is set to become an Operator in Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare 2, as part of the game’s “50 Years of Hip Hop Celebration" where she’ll be joined by Snoop Dogg and 21 Savage as Operators. Call of Duty’s developers stated: "Playtime is over; this is not 'Chill Nicki'; this is Red Ruby Da Sleeze", which is a reference to the alter ego in her latest track, "Red Ruby Da Sleeze".

Minaj's appearance was previewed last year in a YouTube video called Squad Up, which also featured Lil Baby, Bukayo Saka, and Pete Davidson.
According to Call of Duty's website, Minaj's character will have her own store bundle which is "perfect for those who think they have good form across Battle Royale, DMZ, Multiplayer, and Special Ops".
Fans have reacted positively to the news, with some even saying they're going to buy a console specifically for the game: "Can’t wait!!! About to buy a gaming system right now and learn how to play!!! Let’s goooo!'", whilst another referenced the time Ariana Grande was featured on Fornitre: "Oh we will be playing, just like we stormed over to play Fortnite for Ari".
