Nicki Minaj debuts unreleased Pink Friday 2 song at MTV VMAs
During last night's MTV Music Video Awards, Nicki Minaj debuted a new song from her forthcoming fifth studio album, Pink Friday 2.
Alongside her hosting duties at the 2023 MTV Music Video Awards, Nicki Minaj performed her recent single, "Last Time That I Saw You", and debuted a new song from Pink Friday 2. “MTV... It wouldn’t be right if I didn’t give y’all a Pink Friday 2 exclusive," she said before giving the track its debut, although she didn't reveal its title.
Minaj was nominated for six awards including, Video of the Year and Best Hip-Hop for "Super Freaky Girl”, Artist of the Year, Best R&B for “Love in the Way” with Yung Bleu, and Best Visual Effects, also for “Super Freaky Girl”.
She took home the award for Best Hip-Hop, and broke a new award as the only artist to win the achievement five times.

Elsewhere in the evening, she joined Lil Wayne, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, Doug E. Fresh, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five and LL Cool J for a tribute performance to hip-hop’s 50th anniversary at the end of the show, where she performed “Itty Bitty Piggy” and “Red Ruby Da Sleeze”.
Last year, Minaj was honoured at the VMAS with the annual Video Vanguard Award. She also hosted the 2022 VMAs alongside LL Cool J and Jack Harlow, and performed a career-spanning, nine-song medley that included portions of “Super Bass,” “Super Freaky Girl,” “Monster,” and “Anaconda".
