NewDad's Julie Dawson announces debut solo album, Bottom Of The Pool
Julie Dawson, lead singer/songwriter of Galway-formed band NewDad, has announced the forthcoming solo album project, Bottom Of The Pool.
Collaboration was a key element in the creation of Bottom of the Pool. Julie Dawson teamed up with fellow Irish artist, Jack Hamill, (aka Space Dimension Controller), an exploratory producer from Belfast, whose tracks served as the foundation for her songwriting experiments.
They met via their mutual friend Dan Foat. Knowing that both were seeking to try out something different in their respective musical paths, he connected the pair remotely via WhatsApp. Julie received a playlist of Hamill’s instrumental ideas, chose to work on those that resonated with her, and quickly recorded the vocals at the Roundhouse studios late in the evenings
Bottom Of The Pool will be released on 13 September via Fair Youth, and is available to pre-order now.
