New Yung Lean music features in Romain Gavras-directed short
The acting career of Jonatan Leandoer – better known as Yung Lean – amps up a notch as he stars in a new short directed by Romain Gavras for music made with GENER8ION.
The visual Storm – which comprises the two tracks "Storm I" and "Storm II", released today on streaming – sees Leandoer cast as a bully in British boarding school in the near future, with choreography by Damien Jalet.
Gavras has directed some of the most iconic music videos of the last twenty years, including Justice's "Stress" and M.I.A.'s "Bad Girls". GENER8ION - the alias of producer Surkin, part of the French Touch 2.0 generation – previously worked with Gavras on M.I.A.'s "The New International Sound (Part II)" and the 070 Shake collab "Neo Surf" from 2021.
Leandoer dropped the last Yung Lean record Jonatan in May 2025 and has recently acted alongside Charli xcx, Chris Evans, and Anya Taylor Joy in Sacrifice, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival last year.
