Namasenda reveals debut album Limbo created from "streams of consciousness captured in real time"
YEAR0001-signed experimental pop artist Naomi Namasenda has detailed plans for her debut album Limbo set for release this May and revealed new song "Miami Crest".
Namasenda's debut mixtape Unlimited Ammo was released via PC Music back in 2021 and featured collaborations with Oklou, Mowalola, Hannah Diamond and La Zowi, but Limbo sees her partnering with YEAR0001, formerly home to Bladee and Yung Lean and is set for an 8 May release.
The new record took shape over two years in Stockholm and was born from a period of personal pressure: “Much of the record took shape in the moment, with streams of consciousness captured in real time and feeling taking absolute priority,” the Stockholm-based Namasenda explains.
The record was made with a production and writing team that includes Noonie Bao, Linus Wiklund, Medium, Minna Koivisto and Oscar Scheller. New track “Miami Crest” follows previous single "Cola" released in January, her first material since 2023.
