Mykki Blanco to return with new album, CAFE PARADISO
Mykki Blanco has announced his new album, CAFE PARADISO, and shared lead single “Little Feet”, featuring Ian Isiah and Breakaway.
CAFE PARADISO is Mykki Blanco's first full-length work since his 2022 album, Stay Close To Music, and was recorded in New York with longtime collaborator and producer Drew “FaltyDL” Lustman. Today, he reveals first track "Little Feet", featuring R&B singer Ian Isiah and Breakaway, with an accompanying video directed by Alvaro Kreyden.
Following the release of Stay Close to Music and his 2023 Postcards from Italia EP, Blanco stepped away from recording to pursue a Master in Fine Arts in Switzerland after following years of collaborating with artists including Arca, Basement Jaxx, Charli XCX, Jamila Woods, Blood Orange, Kelsey Lu, Michael Stipe, Anohni and Jónsi. He chose to develop his multidisciplinary visual art practice before returning to songwriting to create CAFE PARADISO.
Blanco describes CAFE PARADISO as a “three-act play” or “a festival album” inspired by experiencing life through transit, citing influences including Saint Etienne, The Silver Apples and Towa Tei. “It’s not a point A-to-B record, or a pre-game record. It’s an album about enjoying your own company," he explains, calling it "A record for artsy kids, cosmopolitan aesthetes to sit alone in a café and work on crafting the life of their dreams, or just make sense of it.”
