Ms Banks announces debut album, SOUTH LDN LOVER GIRL

Speaking about her debut album, Ms Banks says: “You never really see the words South London and lover girl put together, unfortunately us girls from South have a bad rep. My environment may have a part to play as to why I am so hard and so stern but deep down inside, there is a girl that wants to love and be loved”. She continues, “This is definitely the most vulnerable I’ve ever been on a project and just being honest about how life feels from my perspective, some past, some present.”

On the album, Banks highlights the complexities of love and relationships, painting vivid narratives of connection and heartbreak. She even offers a raw perspective on how crime and addiction can derail lives, particularly for women navigating those realities. For Banks, it’s more than just music; it’s about impact. It’s about telling stories that need to be heard, shedding light on perspectives often overlooked, like Black men’s mental health, and breaking down taboos, becoming a true voice of the streets and an inspiration to her community.
