Moonbin of K-pop band ASTRO dies aged 25
The singer was reportedly found dead at his home by his manager after not showing up to rehearsals, according to an exclusive report from Yonhap News TV.
In 2016, the five piece, formed entertainment company ASTRO, were named as one of the best Kpop acts by Billboard.
A statement from the police says: "It appears that Moonbin took his own life,” adding: “We are currently discussing the possibility of an autopsy to determine the precise cause of death.”
Hours prior to the news, a Fan Con Tour event in Jakarta, Indonesia that Moonbin had been set to attend was cancelled. A statement from the organisers read: "With heavy heart, we would like to inform you that the 2023 Moonbon & Sanha Fan Con Tour: Diffusion in Jakarta to be held on May 13 is cancelled. After long discussion and consideration, we have to cancel this event due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control that we could not avoid."
ASTRO released their third and most recent studio album, Drive To The Starry Road last May.
