Modern Woman unveil new track, "Neptune Girl"
Modern Woman have released new single "Neptune Girl", the latest track from their upcoming debut album, Johnny’s Dreamworld.
"Neptune Girl" follows the London band's previous single "Dashboard Mary". The track examines morality from a childhood perspective, exploring what it means to be good or bad before having an understanding of what those words mean. Alongside the single, Modern Woman have shared a claymation video directed by Joseph Brett.
Speaking about the track, songwriter and band lead Sophie Harris explains: “This was built off an image of growing up in England, playing in the roads and fields with a friend who later went up to heaven. Heaven is, I imagine, somewhere near Neptune.”
Discussing the music video, she adds: “The entire film was conceived, animated and edited by Joseph. He captured the song so beautifully - from the facial expressions to the set design, to Modern Woman made out of clay at the beginning. He is a talent beyond measure.”
Johnny’s Dreamworld is released on 1 May via One Little Independent Records
