Caribou return to End of the Road after 15 years to headline Friday night

Canadian floor-filler Dan Snaith brought his Caribou project back to Dorset to close the main Woods Stage at End of the Road Festival.

Towards the end of a mega international tour leg and following their Park Stage Glastonbury performance, Snaith and co's elevate-you-off-the-floor trance-pop is greeted by glow sticks and all-ages dance fans, some huddling around fire pits, at Woods Stage on Friday night.

“I can tell this is gonna be incredible already,” Snaith said early on as the band, backed by a hypnotic lights display, slicked through songs from last year’s studio album, Honey.

The first fifteen minutes were entirely instrumental, with stark black and white optical illusions on screen. When they played the 2021 non-album single “You Can Do It” – featuring an Aphrodite’s Child sample from 1972 – the Woods was flooded in colour, reminding everyone of Caribou’s superior ability to tease out moments of tension and euphoric release using visuals and sound.

Caribou’s last time at End of the Road was in 2010 when they played the Big Top tent. The Festival continues today with headline sets from Self Esteem, DIIV, and Viagra Boys.

Earlybird tickets for the festival’s 20th anniversary edition in 2026 will be onsale from Tuesday 2 September via endoftheroadfestival.com
