MJ Lenderman and Meg Duffy to feature on new Wild Pink album, Still Coming Down
Wild Pink have announced their new album, Still Coming Down, and released lead single, “Round Of Applause At The End Of The World.”
Still Coming Down follows the band's 2024 album Dulling the Horns, with "Round Of Applause At The End Of The World" arriving as the first taster of a collection of songs in which singer-guitarist John Ross narrates a "warped and unpredictable" America through the lens of passer-bys and fictional characters. The track calls out the spread of conspiracies and misinformation, and is accompanied by a video directed by Wes Sterrs.
The album was recorded over one week in Asheville, NC Drop of Sun studios with producer and engineer Alex Farrar (Bnny, Wednesday, Samia). It arrives after a significant period of change for Ross, who found himself battling cancer and is now entering fatherhood for the first time.
“Strangely, I feel like I’ve found my voice on this record,” Ross says of Still Coming Down, which is intended to be a true rock album that's fun to play and fun for audiences to experience. It features open arrangements and instrumentals that feature contributions from friends and collaborators, including longtime Wild Pink member Dan Keegan on percussion, Meg Duffy (aka Hand Habits), MJ Lenderman and his The Wind bandmates Landon George and Xandy Chelmis.
