“Miracles” previews proun’s debut LP Maybe Luck as band sign to Good English
Austin trio proun – led by songwriter and guitarist Jamie Weed – have announced their signing to indie label Good English Records, alongside details of their first full-length record Maybe Luck, set for a 26 June release.
Recorded throughout 2025 in the band’s own practice space, Maybe Luck documents Weed’s recent experiences including her transition, self-exploration and the passage of time. The collection marks a shift from solo songwriting to a three-piece rock band, with bassist Dante Zatto and drummer Alex Peterson completing the lineup.
The first track to be taken from the LP is “Miracles”, a song that reflects on how difficult periods can later become points of gratitude. Sputtering vocal loops, buoyant guitar riffs and Weed’s airy, weightless vocals build into a hazy, slow-burning swell.
“‘Miracles’ is an homage to people and experiences that may have caused me a great deal of pain in years prior that have since become points of gratitude,” Weed explains. “Living life and learning things and growing through tough situations that make being a person feel more meaningful.”
The band have become known across the US Southern DIY scene for their intense live performances, having previously supported Jay Som, Lomelda and Foxing. This month they play two shows in Austin with Remember Sports and Youbet.
