
Mia Wray announces her debut album hi, it’s nice to meet me
Melbourne based singer-songwriter Mia Wray has announced her forthcoming debut album alongside the release of the almost-eponymous single, "Nice To Meet Me".
“This was the last song that was written. I was in the studio with G Flip and Aidan Hogg their producer. I told them the story; I was with my partner and I met this girl. She was just the cherry on top, the final realisation that something was really knocking at the door for me. I needed to answer it," Mia Wray explains.
"I remember telling them that when I broke up with my boyfriend, we literally had a house on a hill. It was my uncle’s place in Warrandyte. We were renting it. I remember a couple of days after the break-up, I’m trying to be there for him but also, for me, being there was very upsetting as well. I remember being like, I just need to pack some bags and go, I remember kissing him for the last time — I knew it was the last time, that was very intense. There was a really long dirt road driveway in the middle of the bush; I remember seeing him in the rearview mirror, just standing outside the house on the hill.”
hi, it’s nice to meet me will be released on 14 March 2025 via Mushroom Music.
