Members of Geese and Sunflower Bean announce second Star's Revenge album
Star's Revenge, the New York band led by Sunflower Bean's Olive Faber and Geese guitarist Emily Green, have announced their second LP, aptly named Star's Revenge II. Lead single "Don't Worry Dynamite" is out now.
The band – Faber and Green on guitar and vocals, Christian Billard on drums, and Jonny Ceballos on bass – released a debut LP in 2022, pre-dating Geese's blow-up and have continued playing DIY shows while members pursued other projects. They work with a ramshackle power pop style that owes debt to Sarah Records alums such as Talulah Gosh and the college rock era of the Replacements et al.
The band will mark the album release with a four-night residency at Hart Bar between 28–31 December, with different hand-picked openers each night.
The record was recorded live to tape at Billard's home studio on Long Island. The announcement describes it as a trip through love, addiction, and friendship, and as a loud record for quiet people.
