Melody's Echo Chamber delivers new song "Norfolk Hotel"
Melody's Echo Chamber has unveiled new song "Norfolk Hotel" as the second outing from Unfold, a collection of seven rare and previously unreleased songs that will accompany the 10th anniversary reissue of her self-titled debut album.
After announcing Unfold with the title-track last month, Melody's Echo Chamber, real name Melody Prochet, has released a second track titled "Norfolk Hotel", which Prochet says "soundtracks the metamorphosis experience, those spellbound waves and rhythm shifts."
Prochet continues, "I guess the finale's crumble kind of predicted the future ruin field. The music naturally recorded as a live duo, as I was just blossoming into my own intuitive guitar playing. A very joyful and endlessly inspiring playground of musical memories."
The Unfold songs are from sessions with Prochet and Tame Impala's Kevin Parker that were intended for her second album. She says, "The album was fifty percent completed, and then the relationship just didn't make it through the process. And then I tried to work on it on my own for a couple years, until I realised that I was just really hurting myself doing that."
"Norfolk Hotel" is out now. Melody's Echo Chamber will release the 10th anniversary reissue of Melody's Echo Chamber and Unfold on Friday (30 September) via Domino / Fat Possum, and is available to pre-order now.
