Melody's Echo Chamber announces 10th anniversary reissue of debut album featuring seven rare tracks
Melody's Echo Chamber has announced a 10th anniversary reissue of her self-titled debut album, which will be teamed with Unfold, a collection of seven rare and previously unreleased songs.
In September it'll be 10 years since Melody's Echo Chamber, real name Melody Prochet, released her self-titled debut album recorded ad co-produced by Tame Impala's Kevin Parker, and this afternoon (23 August) Prochet has announced a 10th anniversary reissue of the record, which will be accompanied by Unfold, a collection of seven rare and previously unreleased songs.
As well as announcing the reissue, Prochet has released the Unfold title-track, which lands with a video by Matt Sav.
Prochet says, "To me this song captures the emotional ambivalence of a crossroad, like a child finding a special seashell hidden in the sand but the ocean's creature still lives inside, I guess it's the sound of releasing the beloved."
The Unfold songs are from sessions with Prochet and Parker that were intended for her second album. She says, "The album was fifty percent completed, and then the relationship just didn't make it through the process. And then I tried to work on it on my own for a couple years, until I realised that I was just really hurting myself doing that."
