maya ongaku share new song, "You are Silence"
Japanese psych trio maya ongaku have released "You are Silence", the latest single from their upcoming album, Nothing Space Music.
"You are Silence" follows lead single "Astral Echoes", and also arrives alongside the announcement of a UK/EU tour. Speaking about the new track, the band share: "'You are Silence' was written during Japan’s midsummer season of Obon, when it is believed that the spirits of our ancestors return to visit us for a few precious days each year. While writing this song, I imagined what it would feel like to watch over someone I love if I were one of those spirits. It’s a love song, told from the perspective of the dead."
Following the album's release, maya ongaku will be heading to the United Kingdom to kick off their tour, beginning on 9 September in Todmorden. This will continue through Manchester (10 September) and London (11 September) at MOTH Club before they embark on a European run which will include stops in Berlin, Madrid, Lisbon, and more.
