Max Richter launches Apple Music Chill series, The Songs Of A Jumping Universe
Max Richter has announced the launch of a new five-part series, The Songs Of A Jumping Universe, on Apple Music Chill which features music from forthcoming album, Sleep Circle.
“Over the course of my show,” Max Richter explains, “I explore connections between different musical languages, styles, genres, and cultures. I'm playing music from all over the world—from Renaissance and mediaeval music to electronica, to dance music, instrumental music, classical music—looking to make connections between them. Music is a beautiful borderless art form, and it can teach us a lot about the world and the possible connections between things that appear different.”
Max Richter is celebrating the tenth anniversary of his seminal album, SLEEP, this September which will see Richter bring the live experience to new audiences by playing the largest SLEEP shows to date at Alexandra Palace in London on 5-6 September, marking the first time Richter has performed ‘SLEEP’ in London since 2017.
He also recently announced the new album, Sleep Circle, which is a hallucinatory 90-minute trip into the hypnagogic state – the time period when the brain transitions between a state of wakefulness and sleep and the state during which the individual dreams.
The five-part series The Songs Of A Jumping Universe is available to listen via Apple Music. Sleep Circle will be released on 5 September via Deutsche Grammophon, and is available to pre-order now.
