Matilda Mann returns with new single, "Just Because"
Matilda Mann has shared "Just Because" as the latest single to be taken from her forthcoming debut album, Roxwell.
"Just Because" follows recent singles, "Say It Back", "Meet Cute", "Tell Me That I’m Wrong", and "Dazed & Confused".
Reflecting on the making of her new single, Mann says: “Just Because’ was the song that felt like it took forever to write. Jonah and I had written a verse and chorus that felt new and fresh for us—kinda fun and sassy, haha—but something about it didn’t feel complete. We left it alone for about a year, and then one day, we decided to dedicate just 10 minutes to see if we could naturally find something. Almost immediately, we wrote the pre-chorus, which felt like the perfect missing piece. Just because someone thinks it’s love doesn’t mean it was.”
“This is my debut album. Every song feels like a part of me, and I’m so, so excited that it’s finally coming out. It explores various types of love, the experience of growing up and reflecting on the past, the struggle of not being able to give someone your all, getting stuck in the past, and accepting what you can’t change," Mann says of her debut album.
“It’s everything I want to say and more," she continues. "Some songs were written almost subconsciously and only came to light when I needed to truly acknowledge my feelings. It’s terrifying to put it out into the world, but I’m also incredibly proud of it and grateful to everyone who helped bring it to life.”
Roxwell will be released on 28 February via 7476, and is available to pre-order now.
