Massive Attack's Robert Del Naja issues statement following arrest at Palestine Action protest

Massive Attack frontman Robert Del Naja was among 500 people arrested at a Palestine Action protest in London this weekend and has now released a statement following his release.

Del Naja and hundreds of fellow demonstrators marched peacefully in Trafalgar Square on Saturday 11 April. He held a sign reading "I oppose genocide. I support Palestine Action," which is currently proscribed as a terrorist group under the Terrorism Act 2000, before three officers dragged him away.

Now, Del Naja has issues a statement following his release from police custody, writing on Instagram, "a few hours in police custody under unlawful arrest is a very small price to pay." You can read the full statement below. Del Naja joins more than 2,200 people have been arrested for expressing support for Palestine Action. Massive Attack are part of an alliance of artists opposing the genocide in Gaza, alongside Kneecap, Brian Eno, and Fontaines DC.
