Mary Gauthier announces new album, Reckoning
Singer-songwriter Mary Gauthier has revealed plans for her new album, Reckoning, and released the title track.
Reckoning follows Gauthier’s 2022 album Dark Enough to See the Stars, and is regarded as her most important work to date after nine previous releases. “Reckoning”, which was co-written with Aaron Lee Tasjan, examines the world at its breaking point, confronting the idea of fundamental personal, political, and spiritual truths that can’t be ignored.
The album features additional co-writers, including Vince Gill, Eliza Gilkyson, and a collaboration with Lori McKenna. Across the songs, Gauthier recognises the tension that weighs on the world, but handles it with empathy and a search for understanding.
