Martial Arts detail debut EP, From The Burnoff
Manchester-based five-piece Martial Arts have announced their upcoming debut EP, From The Burnoff, and released new single "Before The Fire".
Martian Arts is formed by Jim Marson (vocals/guitar), Matthew Pearce (vocals/guitar), Jack Brown (guitar), Robbie Beale (bass), and Tom Dunnell (drums). The EP follows a string of single releases throughout 2024 and "Too Much Fun" released earlier this month, with "Before The Fire" being the second preview of the band's debut.
Discussing the song, Marson explains: “It’s a song about how the big dream became just owning a house, the pressure of scraping by and the quiet ever growing discomfort that comes with it, and the self‑awareness to admit we’re still fortunate.”
From The Burnoff was recorded with producer Craig Silvey (Arcade Fire, Arctic Monkeys, Florence + The Machine) and Dani Bennett Spragg (Sam Fender, English Teacher) to capture the sound of their live shows. The album sees Martial Arts explore personal reflections and political ideas as a self-aware introduction.
