Mariah Carey planning to release "lost" '90s alternative rock album
According to a new interview, Mariah Carey has plans to release a "lost" alternative rock album recorded in the '90s.
In 2020, Carey revealed in her The Meaning Of Mariah Carey memoir that she made an alternative rock album with her band while simultaneously working on her 1995 album Daydream. Carey also revealed that her friend Clarissa Dane helped perform the lead vocals with her, and it was put out under a band name of Chick, and was titled Someone’s Ugly Daughter.
Fun fact: I did an alternative album while I was making Daydream Just for laughs, but it got me through some dark days. Here's a little of what I wrote about it in #TheMeaningOfMariahCarey S/O to my friend Clarissa who performs the lead w/ me as a hidden layer #Chick #TMOMC pic.twitter.com/Re23t5whcd

Last week Carey spoke to Rolling Stone, and according to the piece, Carey has plans to reissue the album after finding a version of the record "with her own lead vocals intact".
The piece also states that as well as planning to release the version of the album with Carey on lead vocals, she is planning something related to the Chick album with "another artist".
Mariah Carey is yet to share details about the release of Someone’s Ugly Daughter, but today (19 September) she's shared a behind the scenes video for her "Honey" music video.
