Maple’s Pet Dinosaur signs to Warner Music Australia and releases new song, "Child’s Play"

Australian rock artist Maple's Pet Dinosaur has announced her signing to Warner Music Australia / In Bloom and shared her new single, "Child's Play", the title track of her upcoming EP.

The fifteen-year-old artist has just signed a global deal with Warner, with Child's Play set to be her first release on the label. "Signing a global deal with Warner and In Bloom ahead of my debut EP is a dream come true," Maple says. "I'm genuinely grateful for this level of belief from one of the best labels in the world and I can't wait to see what we will be able to do together."

The title track follows a discordant, heavier sound, featuring drums from Dan Stivens of Ocean Sleeper. "I thought it would be fun to fuse Ariana Grande or Xtina-style vocal runs over something really dirty and heavy," she says. "I love exploring new ideas inside heavy, alt-metal."

In the past year, Maple's Pet Dinosaur has shot to viral fame following the release of her debut single "lego" last August, and its accompanying music video, which was filmed on a Ring doorbell camera. She has since played her third-ever show at SXSW Sydney, and has become the youngest artist ever to appear at Australia's Good Things festival, sharing stages with Tool and Weezer.

"I was offered so many opportunities to rinse the doorbell video – fly to the US for talk shows – but that video was only ever meant to be a gateway for gigs," she says. "I'm not trying to be a celebrity or influencer. I want to be a rock singer."
