Watch Man/Woman/Chainsaw cover Lola Young at End of the Road Festival
Amidst a set that drew one of the biggest crowds we've ever seen at Best Fit's secret sessions at End of the Road Festival last September, London's Man/Woman/Chainsaw turned in an immaculate take on Lola Young's "Conceited".
Treating woodland wanderers to two unreleased songs, as well as certified fan favourite “MadDog”, the ensemble closed with the cover of Young’s 2023 banger complete with pizzicato violin from Clio Starwood which you can watch below.
The cover was part of a secret session by the London six-piece for Best Fit at the same festival that also saw pop-up sets from The Orchestra (For Now),Throwing Muses, Truman Sinclair, Squid, Tyler Ballgame, Jake Xerxes Fussell, The Sophs, Ellie O'Neill, jasmine.4.t, Lily Seabird, and Stewart Lee with Black Country, New Road.
Best Fit's secret sessions have become a key part of End of the Road each year, bringing together artists from across the line-up in a series of short sets, exclusive covers, collaborations, and live interviews and Q&As. Past guests have included Lucy Dacus, St Vincent, Wilco's Jeff Tweedy, Moses Sumney, Laura Marling, Patti Smith, and Frightened Rabbit - who played a now iconic version of "The Modern Leper".
End of the Road returns this September for its 20th anniversary edition, with headliners Pulp, Mac DeMarco, CMAT, Super Furry Animals, Fat Dog, Kurt Vile and one super-secret name yet to be revealed.
Tickets for End of the Road Festival – which runs from 3-6 September 2026 – are on sale now from endoftheroadfestival.com.
