Watch The Magnetic Fields cover Thunderclap Newman for Best Fit's secret sessions at End of the Road
The Magnetic Fields tackled Thunderclap Newman's classic late-60s anthem "Something in the Air" during their secret set for The Line of Best Fit this weekend at End of the Road Festival.
Anthony Kaczynski took lead vocals on the track, which has been performed by everyone from Tom Petty to The Chicks, and was part of a three-song set for Best Fit's secret sessions, which this year saw the likes of Kurt Vile, Lucy Dacus and Soccer Mommy take part. The Magnetic Fields also performed “Castles of America”, “Luckiest Guy on the Lower East Side” and “All the Umbrellas in London”.

Best Fit's secret sessions have become a key part of End of the Road each year, bringing together artists from across the line-up in a series of short sets, exlusive cover, collaborations, and live interviews and Q&As. Past guests have included Wilco's Jeff Tweedy, Moses Sumney, Alex Cameron, Laura Marling, Patti Smith, and Frightened Rabbit - who played a now iconic version of "The Modern Leper".
