Mac DeMarco details forthcoming album, Guitar
Mac DeMarco has announced his forthcoming album, Guitar, alongside the release of lead single, "Home".
Mac DeMarco describes the new single as as “a song I wrote at my home in Los Angeles about what home means to me.”
Guitar was written and recorded in its entirety in November 2024 at Mac DeMarco’s home in Los Angeles. Except for the mastering, which was handled by David Ives, he created and handled all aspects of this record on his own, including mixing the album in Canada, and shooting the music videos and album artwork on tripods.
Speaking of the release, he comments: "I think Guitar is as close to a true representation of where I’m at in my life today as I can manage to put to paper. I’m happy to share this music, and look forward to playing these songs as many places as I’m able."
Guitar follows 2023’s instrumental album, Five Easy Hot Dogs, recorded in various locations from Los Angeles to New York City, and the 199-track release, One Wayne G.
