Elijah Wood, Anthony Fantano and more have reacted to M.I.A.'s controversial tweet that compared Alex Jones "lying" about the Sandy Hook school shooting to celebrities "pushing vaccines".

Last night M.I.A. reacted to conspiracy theorist Alex Jones being ordered to pay nearly £870 million in damages for falsely claiming the Sandy Hook school shooting in 2012 was fake with a controversial tweet that suggested that celebrities "pushing vaccines" should pay too.

M.I.A. wrote, "If Alex jones pays for lying shouldn’t every celebrity pushing vaccines pay too ?"

She followed it up with another tweet writing, "Alex jones lying and Pfizer lying both trending. One with penalty other without. If you have no critical thinking faculty, this is about as crazy as we should get before a nuclear war wipe out the human race."

Actor Elijah Wood reacted to M.I.A.'s first tweet, writing, "ummmm…what?," while the popular YouTube music critic Anthony Fantano wrote, "I know you’re seeing a void to fill with Kanye’s account locked down, but step away. It’s not worth it."

This morning (13 October) M.I.A. followed up her recent tweets by writing, "I might be the first cancelled twitter user back in 2010. For saying " connected to the google connected to the government". They forget i got different kinds of receipts."

Back in 2020 M.I.A. also prompted people to think she was an anti-vaxxer after tweeting that she would "choose death" rather than getting a COVID "vaccine or chip", which resulted in British Vogue pulling a feature with her.
