Lou Doillon returns with first new music in seven years, "I try my best"
French singer-songwriter Lou Doillon has released her new single, “I try my best”.
“I try my best” follows Doillon’s 2019 album Soliloquy. It lands as her first release on Columbia France, and the first glimpse of a yet-to-be-announced album due in 2027. The track was co-produced by Jonathan Wilson, and arrives alongside a music video directed by Alexandra Cabral.
“There is magic here, a sense of ritual, but also grief,” Doillon says of the song. “While clearing out my mother’s house and, at the same time, moving out of my own apartment, I found myself confronted by unexpected specters emerging from all these different places.”
