Long Distance Runner drop debut single, "Zero"

West London post-rock outfit Long Distance Runner have released their first single, "Zero".

Formed by Ned Prevezer, Joe Bourdier, James Stirrat, and Maurice Talbot, Long Distance Runner have played within London's grassroots music circuit for nearly two years. They've sold out a headline at The George Tavern for their sixth-ever gig, hosted a month-long residency at Shoreditch’s Dream Bags Jaguar Shoes, and shared stages with ladylike, Spanish Horses and Roscoe Roscoe. Today, "Zero" arrives as their first official release. The track was recorded with with Tom Kellett (Moreish Idols, Pearl2), and is described as the band's "mission statement".

“‘Zero’ emerged very accidentally," Prevezer explains. "We were playing our first ever show, and needed to fill up the set time, so we decided to improvise over a riff James had been playing with in rehearsal. We ended up playing it at every show and it’s become a sort of fan favourite. It’s heavy and chaotic, but also euphoric, and it’s new every time we play it because there’s still no set ‘structure’. In that way, it’s probably the best distillation of us as a band.’”

"Zero" is out now
