London indie-pop quartet daydreamers announce debut album Have You Tried Screaming?

05 June 2026, 12:30 | Written by Best Fit

Have You Tried Screaming?, daydreamers' first full length album, will arrive on 3 July via Robots + Humans / Epic Records. The news is accompanied by a new track, “Start Living”, and follows a deliberately low-key launch last week, when the band hosted an intimate house party for fans, previewing unreleased songs in person before putting anything online.

Lead vocalist and principal songwriter Riley - the band go by first names - described the collection as a long time coming. “It feels like I’ve been waiting my whole life to release ‘Have You Tried Screaming?’,” he said. “It’s a body of work I’m so proud of and a bunch of songs that are so close to my heart.”

Much of the writing happened in a cramped bedroom while Riley was holding down several jobs and feeling increasingly isolated. “A lot of it was written in a tiny bedroom, during a period when I was working multiple jobs and really trying to find my place in the world,” he explained. "By playing shows with the guys, meeting fans and sharing these songs with them, we’ve managed to form a real community around the music we play. This album is for anybody who feels cut off in the same way.”

The newly shared “Start Living” has already become a live favourite. The single expands on the band’s self-described “sad euphoria”, a term Riley has used for the contrast between emotionally raw lyrics and uplifting arrangements. Earlier cuts from the record include “I Expect Better”, “She Is A Time I’m Living In”, and “Good Intentions”, all of which occupy a similar space.

daydreamers began as a solitary lockdown project for Riley before he connected with Aurora (bass), Marco (guitar), and Jay (drums) on London’s gig circuit. The quartet’s 2024 self-titled EP and debut single “Call Me Up” blew up on TikTok, eventually generating 80 million views and 16 million Spotify streams. That digital momentum translated into festival appearances at Reading & Leeds, Latitude, TRNSMT, and The Great Escape, a sold-out first headline tour, and support slots with Kings of Leon and Sea Girls.

To mark the album’s release, the band will play London’s 100 Club on 16 July as part of the Big Dork Summer series.
