LEMFRECK announces new mixtape Cyrogenics with single "Post Luck Clarity"
Newport alternative R&B artist LEMFRECK has released a new single, "Post Luck Clarity", alongside confirmation of his forthcoming mixtape Cyrogenics.
Speaking on the track, LEMFRECK explains: "'Post Luck Clarity' is about the moment after you realise you’ve dodged something that could have ruined you, but still feeling pulled back towards it anyway. It’s a reminder you’re your own enemy sometimes and that’s okay."
The single offers the first preview of Cyrogenics, which the artist describes as a new chapter. The mixtape is expected to expand on the emotional and sonic territory of his previous output, focusing on identity, self-reflection, and inner conflict.
LEMFRECK arrives at this announcement following a significant 2024, during which he won the Welsh Music Prize for his debut LP Blood, Sweat & Fears. That recognition was followed by live performances at Glastonbury, Primavera, and the Great Escape, as well as his work presenting and producing the BBC documentary Black Music Wales, which examined the history of black music from his home region.
The independent artist has also received airplay from BBC Radio 1, BBC 1Xtra and BBC 6 Music, and has played live across the UK, Europe and North America. ‘Post Luck Clarity’ now sets the tone for his upcoming release.
