Leeds garage quartet Vehicle announce new album, Fumes
Vehicle have revealed plans for their upcoming album, Fumes, and shared new single, "Miserable Vibes".
Formed by vocalist and guitarist Michael Cable, guitarist Danny Sockett, bassist Connall Doo, and drummer Jack Devlin, Vehicle released their debut album, Widespread Vehicle, just last year. The announcement follows singles "You Are Not A Cowboy / My Future Wife (I Love You)" and "Escalators", with new track "Miserable Vibes" landing as a jangle, Americana-inspired cut from the album.
"A withdrawn nostalgia addict goes cold turkey, everything floats to the surface, the conclusion is an elusive one," Cable explains of "Miserable Vibes". "Archive footage floats across the words — our hero doesn't know what era they're from anymore, the song is about the strange guilt of living in a present that borrows too heavily from the past. In the end it doesn't really matter — 'I Love Wasting Time'. Denim's 1992 album Back in Denim is a big influence on this one."
Ahead of the release, Vehicle are currently looking ahead at two live shows in November. The band will be supporting Formal Sppeedwear at Sheffield on 2 November, and London at The Elephant’s Head supporting Delivery for So Young magazine.
Fumes is released on 19 March 2027 via Esco Romanesco Records
