As previously reported, Zola Jesus has teamed up with experimental composer JG Thirlwell for a collection of alternative takes on her tracks.
The pair first teamed up last year at New York’s Guggenheim Museum for what seemed at the time a one-off performance, but now they’ll release a whole album of collaborative reworkings called Versions on 19 August.
Check out this first cut ‘Avalanche (Slow)’, performed with the Mivos Quartet orchestra, below. The original version initially appeared on Conatus back in 2011.
