Jón Gnarr, the mayor of Reykjavík, has long been known to be a pretty damn cool guy and now he’s proven it once again by making Yoko Ono a honorary citizen of his city.
Last week, the City Council Executive Committee of Reykjavík announced that Ono would be granted the accolade for her “valuable contribution to Reykjavík” and “lifelong work as an advocate for world peace and human rights”.
She was honoured at a ceremony at the Icelandic capital’s Höfdi House earlier today (9 October).
