Wiley sued by Cumbria's Cockrock Festival after 15 minute set
Cumbria’s Cockermouth Rock festival are taking legal action against Wiley‘s shortened set and walk-off at the festival last weekend.
The grime MC, now well known for his hatred of festivals on farms, was booed off stage after preceding the set with a series of antagonising tweets about not wanting to be there. After being pelted with beer cans, Wiley thought enough was enough and headed off after just 15 minutes of a 45min slot. You can watch the incident below.
Cockrock Festival, however, now feel they didn’t get value for money – reportedly having paid him up front, meaning the rapper made £1000 for every minute he actually played.
Festival organizer Marie Whitehead has released a statement on the matter, stating that Wiley “breached his contract” by walking off early. She also notes that ticket sales were low for the Saturday night simply because “a lot of people didn’t think he was coming”.
Meanwhile, one festival Wiley did appear to enjoy over the weekend was Lovebox. Read about that here.
