Earlier this week Wilco announced 10th studio album Schmilco - now they've announced that they're releasing a special Schmilco turntable as well.
The turntable comes with a limited edition translucent orange vinyl edition of the record, plus instant downloads of the first two singles and a full album download in September. It's a modification of the Debut Carbon DC made in collaboration with Pro-ject in their factory in Litovel, Czech Republic. Check out the specs here.
Also, when you pre-order a Schmilco CD or LP bundle you'll get a pack of Shocking Gum - "delivers a small shock to user; not recommended for children or people with heart conditions". The gum is limited to the first 2600 orders.
“I think this record is ‘joyously negative’” frontman Jeff Tweedy says of Schmilco. “It’s sad in a lot of ways but not in any that reach a conclusion of doom or hopelessness… I just had a lot of fun being sour about the things that upset me.”
Schmilco is out 9 September. The turntable bundle will ship "on or near" 15 November - US shipping is free, but international orderers will need to contact info@kungfunation.com for a shipping quote.
Wilco will only produce this turntable if they receive 100 orders due to the "high cost of the custom top... and high quality parts."
