A curious move given today’s current economic climate, but book-sellers WH Smith are set to re-introduce CD and DVD sales to their UK stores.
Following on from music giants HMV’s well-publicised collapse, the stationary chain have announced that they will start selling CDs again on a store-by-store basis.
The Telegraph reveal today that the percentage of CD/DVD sales that make up the company’s overall revenue has massively declined from that of 25% a decade ago.
WH Smith had gradually pulled themselves out of the entertainment market due to products being “not profitable enough”.
