Weird Al Yankovic released his career-reviving new album Mandatory Fun last week, going number 1 in the U.S.
Quite the achievement when you consider that it’s Yankovic’s first ever time at top spot and the first comedy album to do so in 54 years. The record sold 104,700 copies in its first week.
It’s also Yankovic’s best-selling album since 1991’s Straight Outta Lynwood, which sold 73,000 copies in its first week.
His 14th full-length to date, Mandatory Fun featured spoofs of Robin Thicke, Iggy Azalea, Pharrell and more.
