Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy made an appearance on this week’s episode of Portlandia, mocking folk music’s tradition of grand metaphor.
“I’ve got dusty soul and broken heart,” Tweedy sings before Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein teach him to be more honest, instead inspiring a song about the hazards of a faulty smoke alarm.
You can watch that clip beneath. Tweedy, meanwhile, will also feature in an upcoming episode of Parks and Recreation.
