Watch: Vivian Girls – Take It As It Comes
You know those times when you feel really drained of energy and that your blood-sugar levels are dangerously low? Well instead of scoffing your face with digestive biscuits, how about just watching this candy-coated new video courtesy of the Vivian Girls instead.
Taking kitsch to a whole ‘notha level, Vivian Girls offer a bit of guy advice through a bleary-eyed telephone exchange between two swooning teenage friends. ‘Take It As It Comes’ is a sickeningly delicious wry take on 80s pastiche, for lovers of any and all John Hughes flicks.
Katy’s monotone verses are interjected by Cassie’s riot-grrl wisdom before they break into a bubblegum pop chorus that even has its own dance routine. This is like Goo-era Kim Gordon trying to have a conversation with Katy Perry.
