Watch The Throne 2 has basically been confirmed
There hasn’t been a formal announcement, but would you expect one for a release involving Kanye West and Jay-Z? With rumours circulating for months now, it seems pretty likely that Watch The Throne 2 is happening.
The source of the confirmation comes, again, from Kanye producer Mike Dean – who has previously dropped hints on the development to the Hov/Yeezy collab follow-up. The news came when Dean warned Hudson Mohawke over his dismissive tweets about the new Jay-Z album, Magna Carta Holy Grail.
After Hud Mo took to the social networking site to argue that the LP “could’ve came out 10 yrs ago no one would’ve batted an eye lid”, urging him to think before he tweets lest he wants to burn bridges for work on a particular much-anticipated follow-up. Dean wrote: “all g, just we’re all fam. don’t burn your bridge for WTT 2!”
Mohawke seemed to pre-empt this very news piece by replying: “you just set the Internet on fire w that wtt2 comment hahaaa”, before Dean responded in sheer confirmation: “yep. It’s happening.”
The original Watch The Throne album was released back in 2011, spawning singles ‘Otis’ and ‘Niggas In Paris’. The video to the latter you can stream beneath:
