Having performed a beautifully analogue session version of ‘My Ways’ for us back in January, The Concretes have revealed a brand new video for the third track to be lifted from last year’s career defining record WYWH.
Filmed on the island of Gotland that sits in Baltic Sea just south of Stockholm and directed by Mats Udd, the sweeping cinematography and beautiful film grading capture the almost other worldly landscape perfectly, whilst a young boy’s bicycle journey sees him collecting road kill from dusty trails. Opening with the rather bold visual image of a recently ran over fox, the delicate innocence of the songs melody twists around Lisa Milberg’s plaintive vocals and the short film’s brilliantly childish confrontation with death. The final scene, I think we will all be able to agree, is something quite magical.
