Speedy Ortiz frontwoman Sadie Dupuis has shared a new recording of herself covering “The Last Page” by Metric’s Emily Haines.
The original track, snipped from Emily Haines & The Soft Skeleton’s 2006 album Knives Don’t Have Your Back, starts off as a rather somber piano affair before her rhythm section joins in. Dupuis’ version, though it features some heavier distortion and background noise, somehow manages to play out as a more reserved take on the tune and features accompaniment from Baltimore band Two Inch Astronaut’s Sam Rosenberg.
